Event Details

Polio has reemerged with a confirmed case in Rockland County, and the detection of the virus in wastewater in New York City. Monkeypox infections are continuing to grow exponentially in the U.S., and rapid and aggressive public health interventions are needed. Dr. Susan Donelan, Medical Director and Assistant Professor of Infectious Disease at the Renaissance School of Medicine at Stony Brook University, will speak about strategies needed to combat the spread of these and other emerging infectious diseases. This program is sponsored by Stony Brook Southampton Hospital and East End Libraries.
