Calling all writers! What does it take to create a successful series, mystery or any genre? Our styles on how we construct an exciting mystery series are different, yet there are similarities in their ultimate goal of telling a story. Topics we’ll discuss include: creating memorable characters that move flawlessly from one book in the series to the next, dialogue to advance the plot, tips on co-mingling fact and fiction, establish a setting, pitching and promoting to agents, publishers, media and readers. Marcia Rosen and Claudia Riess will discuss all aspects of the process—objectively, but with a personal slant, telling how our own distinctive experiences with the genre, from conception to promotion, have helped define and refine our own series."
