Event Details
The dominant medium of traditional Chinese art is water-based, whether ink or watercolors, on paper. Styles can be distinguished between expressionism and precise realism. The mastery of both requires tremendous training so that the artist possesses total control of the pen and brush and can produce life-like drawings of trees, flowers, birds and landscapes. A student moves on to the next stage after mastering each level of precision drawing. Expressionist paintings are done using ink diluted with water on rice paper, which allows the ink to bleed, creating an impressionistic effect. The live, in-person session will give children and families a chance to participate and create their own art piece under the guidance of an expert.
